The Toyota Camry has long been one of the most popular midsize cars in the world, and with good reason. Packed with exceptional comfort, unwavering refinement on the road and top-notch performance, the 2022 Toyota Camry also offers rock-solid reliability, advanced safety technologies and excellent resale value.
Then in 2019, Toyota introduced an all-new all-wheel drive system for the Toyota Camry to make it even more interesting, especially for buyers who use their Camry in the winter, which is the vast majority of owners!
An all-wheel-drive Camry like the ones we have at Laking Toyota becomes a real all-rounder on snow or ice, offering Ontario buyers well accustomed to winter a vehicle that can keep up regardless of the road conditions outside.
An Advanced All-Wheel Drive System for the Toyota Camry
The Toyota Camry's all-wheel drive system is sophisticated and efficient. Based on the system used in the Toyota RAV4 compact SUV, the Dynamic Torque Control system is able to vary the torque distribution from axle to axle when the system detects a loss of grip.
As soon as your wheels slip on snow or an icy surface, the system will be able to detect it and take the necessary action to redistribute up to 50% of the torque at the rear to restore stability. Everything is done without the driver noticing it and practically instantaneously.
Plus, when the road is nice, you actually get a front-wheel drive system, which translates into much lower fuel consumption than a traditional all-wheel drive.
Paired with the Camry's 202-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, this system averages 8.25 liters per 100 kilometers, a very small increase over the fuel consumption of the front-wheel drive model.
Enjoy the comfort, performance and safety of your 2022 Toyota Camry without worrying about the outdoors with an all-wheel drive Camry. You don't have to compromise on interior space either!
We can promise you will look forward to the first snowstorm!
